Mosaic Robotics wins the European Robotics League Smart City competition

Exciting news from the Prorok Lab at the University of Cambridge! 🏆

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our team, Mosaic Robotics, has taken home the top prize at the European Robotics League Smart City Robotics Competition in Milton Keynes!

This competition challenges teams from universities and industry to showcase their robotic solutions in real-world scenarios. We participated in the Coffee Shop Episode, which required robots to take orders from new customers, collect the order from the counter, and safely deliver it to the correct table in a complex, public environment. ☕

Our winning solution leverages our expertise in multi-agent systems and perception by utilizing an off-board camera network to provide the robot with real-time contextual information. This system allows our robot to navigate, interact with people, and efficiently serve customers, demonstrating the power of collective intelligence in a dynamic, social setting.

A huge congratulations to all the teams who competed and thank you to the organizers Smart City Consultancy for a fantastic event! As we celebrate this win, we look forward to sharing more about Mosaic Robotics (Jan Blumenkamp Sridhar Sola Amanda Prorok) and how we plan to transfer cutting-edge multi-agent research into real-world applications!
